줄거리
한 젊은 여자가 오래전에 떠났던 작은 프랑스 마을로 돌아온다. 여자는 자신의 정체를 숨긴 채 동네 공장에서 임시직으로 일하고, 누구도 이름을 알지 못해 '머신'이라고 부른다. 공장은 문을 닫을 위기에 처해 있고, 노동자는 이에 맞서 싸우고 있다. 머신은 자신을 쫓는 군대를 피해 몸을 사리려고 애쓰지만 결국 노동자들의 투쟁에 휘말리고 만다. 이 과정에서 이미 싸우는 법을 아는 머신은 드디어 싸워야 하는 이유를 찾게 되는데...
